My name is Ralph A. Hoard III, and I have been the Physical Education teacher here at Wieland since its opening in August 2007. This is currently my 14th year of teaching overall, as I spent my first 3 years of teaching working in Southeast Texas (Dunbar Elementary, Beaumont, Texas). I earned my Bachelor's degree in Kinesiology from Lamar University (2004) and my Master's degree in Pastoral Counseling from Liberty University (2011).
My hometown is Detroit, Michigan, and I was raised in Southeast Texas. Thus, my favorite teams are the University of Michigan, and those from Detroit and Houston. I am currently enjoying over 23 years of marriage to my lovely wife, Yolando, who is the Elementary Math Coordinator for Pflugerville ISD. We have four wonderful daughters: Whitney (University of North Texas graduate), Courtney, Keisha (a juniorr at Texas State University), and Kennedi (freshman at Hutto H.S.). Also, I am the pround grand-father of a wonderful grand-daughter named Kaysen.
My class motto is: "You never know how much you can do until you try." We encourage every student to try each activity and do their very best. It is my belief that students excel when given an opportunity to try and fail and try again until they succeed without any negative pressures.
