• Career Readiness

Career Readiness emphasizes the importance of all students from Kinder to 12th grade having systematic exposure to a wide variety of careers that are available and that match their passions and interests. In middle school and high school, students will narrow down their career aspirations and select a pathway or endorsement that will provide them with a sequence of courses to help to prepare them for their future career and college or postsecondary training.

    Students:
    • Use the career tools on the Texas Career Check https://texascareercheck.com/ to find the careers that match your passions.

    • Choose your endorsement or CTE pathway of study on Bridges and take the courses that will best prepare you for your future.

    • Take a practicum course at the end of your pathway and even earn a professional certificate while in high school.

    • Participate in job shadow opportunities like Real World Pflugerville.

    • Apply for jobs and internships to gain experience, learn real-world skills, and earn money for postsecondary destinations.
