Ms. Mary Kimmins ~ Trustee
Ms. Mary Kimmins became a board member in 2015.
As ESL Program Director for the Intensive American English Institute, Mary Kimmins supervises the ESL program in teacher professional development, curriculum development, scheduling and evaluation. As part of the management team, she also works with program development for the parent company, House of Tutors Learning Centers, Inc.
Prior to joining House of Tutors, Kimmins worked 30 years in the Pflugerville ISD school system where she taught middle and high school students for 15 years before moving into administration as a district curriculum coordinator for mathematics, social studies, science and fine arts, as a high school assistant principal and middle school principal. Her extensive career afforded her positions on regional committees for curriculum development, as a consultant on local and regional textbook committees, as district secondary lead principal and as a representative on the board of directors for the Texas Association of Secondary School Principals (TASSP.)
Her leadership and dedication has won her accolades including Teacher of the Year and Humanitarian of the Year in Pflugerville ISD schools, and Region 13 Outstanding Principal for TASSP. Kimmins holds a B.S. from Texas A&M University, a M.Ed. from the University of Texas and principal certification from Texas State University.
