PfISD Undertakes Strategic Planning, Adopts New Vision

  • With the goal of creating a new strategic plan for PfISD by the end of the Spring 2018 semester, school administrators, staff, students, parents and community members are developing new strategies and goals that will steer the district in the coming years.

The process began in October when the Board of Trustees worked with the administrative team to craft a new Vision Statement:

Pflugerville ISD... Passionately Serving the Best Interests of Students

Soon after, a group of 60 staff, students, parents and community members participated in a two-day retreat to identify multiple strategies and objectives surrounding five areas that the Board identified as crucial for future success:

    1. Teaching and Learning
    2. Human Resources
    3. Funding and Finance
    4. Facilities
    5. Communications

Action Teams were formed to address each of the strategies. The teams worked throughout the Spring 2018 semester, reporting on their work to the original strategic planning team in April. Finally, a report was presented to the Board in May. The Board subsequently approved the Strategic Plan at the May 17 regular meeting. The result is a strategic plan that guides PfISD over the next several years.
