    WES Families,

Thank you for your support of the students and staff at WES as we are approaching the finish line for the 2017 STAAR testing. Our students were on time, well rested, and present each and every day. Your commitment to their success is what makes WES the best school in town!

Our students have done a tremendous job this week staying positive, showing stamina and perseverance, and doing their best as they demonstrate their mastery of the TEKS this school year.

The WES staff has pulled together to meet the needs of the students every step of the way. STAAR pep rally on Friday was a treat! The PMS Pop dance team made a special trip over to encourage the students. It was great to see former WES eagles provide words of encouragement for our students. In addition, many of the teachers, admin and I surprised the students with a choreographed dance routine. It was a blast to surprise the students.

Our WPS family stepped up to monitor classrooms, relieve teachers, and administer tests. It takes a village, and we are truly grateful to be one Windermere family.

Today for the fifth grade science test we had an electric glitch that impacted the lights of two hallways as well as the AC in a few rooms. PfISD and Oncor were on it, and all was resolved within a short time. The students and staff were flexible, and we did our best to ensure the students’ needs were met.

We will remain a closed campus this week, as we have a couple of testing make-ups. Thank you again for supporting WES.

We look forward to the remainder of the year, and wrapping up this phenomenal 2017!

    WES Families,

Happy Monday! We hope you had a wonderful and relaxing weekend. Spring fever has set in with many students, and we are working hard to engage your children in quality instruction as we wrap up this school year. Fifth-grade students are participating in their annual field trip to the YMCA today and tomorrow.

    We met our goal:

We are so proud to announce that our WES community came through in a big way! We exceeded our $300 goal in support of the medical expenses for our crossing guard, Ms. Gavin. Ms. Gavin is anxious to get back to her role as crossing guard, and we are hopeful that we can support her efforts with this generous donation. Our staff will surprise her this week with your generosity, and we trust that it will raise her spirits. We are so lucky to have such a supportive WES community!

Academic Night and Book Fair Thursday Success

Thank you for participating in an amazing Academic Night last week at WES. We hope you had your fill of pizza, fun, learning and books! Thank you for spending your evening with us, allowing the teachers and students an opportunity to showcase all of the learning that takes place at WES daily.

We cleared several thousand dollars at the book fair, allowing Ms. Daniels more funds to purchase books for the library. We often need multiple copies of the most popular books, as they are never on the shelves and students wait weeks to read their favorites. We are grateful that you all partner with us to make WES the best!

    WES Families,

We hope you and your family had a relaxing and enjoyable three-day weekend. We are happy to have our students back today, and look forward to the week ahead.

We conducted a severe weather drill first thing this morning, and the students and staff did a wonderful job practicing seeking shelter in our interior classrooms. We like to be prepared for spring weather, and have to annually conduct these drills.

    WES Families,

I hope you had a great weekend and were able to enjoy the beautiful spring weather.

    Field Day:

Thank you for supporting our PE fundraiser and the Field Day Adventure Dash. Field day was a blast, and the weather was perfect! The students participated in some friendly competition of races, tug of war, and enjoyed Kona Ice in between the Dash and the bounce house slides. Thank you for your support of our students and the school. A special thank you to WES parent, Veronica Kelly, for hand making each t-shirt the students wore on field day.  Field Day creates lasting memories for our children, and we are happy the weather cooperated this year.

I have attached the Hendrickson High School Plant Sale flyer for those of you that are interested in spring plants while supporting PFISD.
