    Parents,

It’s hard to believe we’ve reached the end of the school year! I wanted to send out a few reminders about our last few days together.

Monday is our 8th grade field trip for those who are eligible to attend. Students will depart Westview at 9:45 a.m. and return at approximately 2 p.m.  Students will be served lunch while at Main Event! All 6th and 7th graders will attend their normal classes.

Wednesday is our last day and students will be released at 12:45. During their time at school, students will have the opportunity to participate in some events we have planned so they will NOT need to bring a backpack on the last day. We are asking that all backpacks be left at home on Wednesday, June 6.

If you have a student attending Westview next year, please be on the lookout for emails containing information about schedule verification, etc. We will be starting school a little earlier this next year, so this information will come very soon. The first day of school for the 2018-19 school year is Thursday, Aug. 16!

We thank you for your support, partnership and for sending us such awesome kids! We wish each of you a safe and restful summer!

    Amanda Johnson
    Principal, Westview MS

    Weekly newsletter

    Español

    Parents,

We have a big week coming up! We have listed the testing schedule below by date and also have noted which classes students will attend each day upon the conclusion of testing. Also, this week was the last week for tutorial busses to run. Your child may stay after school with a teacher, if needed, but transportation will not be provided.

Please help us by making sure that your child gets plenty of rest the night before if they are scheduled to test next week. As always, every student at Westview has the option to eat breakfast on campus, so if he/she is unable to eat before leaving home, we have that covered! We will provide snacks and water for students during the testing time. Students will not be able to bring his/her own snacks and water, but we will have plenty to make sure they are taken care of! We are doing everything that we can to ensure they have all that they need during testing time.

Our students and teachers have worked hard all year long to ensure success and we are looking forward to showing off their academic intelligence!

    Monday, May 14:

    • 6th Grade Math
    • 7th Grade Math (for those who didn’t take the math test previously)
    • 8th Grade Math Retake (selected students)

Students who are not testing will attend and participate in a project based learning activity on campus. Students will be placed in groups with teachers and will attend 6th and 7th periods upon the completion of testing.

    Tuesday, May 15:

    • 6th Grade Reading
    • 7th Grade Reading
    • 8th Grade Reading Retake (selected students)

Students who are not testing will attend and participate in a project based learning activity on campus. Students will be placed in groups with teachers and will attend 1st and 2nd periods upon the completion of testing.

    Wednesday, May 16:

    • 8th Grade Science

All other students, grades 6 and 7, will remain on a normal bell schedule. Upon completion of testing and lunch, 8th grade will attend 6th and 7th period.

    Thursday, May 17:

    • 8th Grade Social Studies

All other students, grades 6 and 7, will remain on a normal bell schedule. Upon completion of testing and lunch, 8th grade will attend 6th and 7th period.

Students who miss a test on any of the days above will begin make-up testing upon the day they return to campus. Exams given on Friday, May 18, will also include any make-up exams.

    Have a fantastic weekend!
