PfISD honors AP Scholars

Pflugerville ISD’s high schools each recognized some of its top students Friday morning at annual campus AP Scholar Appreciation Breakfasts.
The Advanced Placement Program offers a number of different AP Scholar Awards to recognize high school students for demonstrating college-level achievement through the passing of AP exams each year, and PfISD is proud to recognize the accomplishments of these students.
A total of 497 students from PfISD received AP Scholar Awards for their performance on AP exams during the 2017-18 academic year.
PfISD had students recognized in seven categories awarded by AP: AP Scholar, AP Scholar with Honor, AP Scholar with Distinction, National AP Scholar, AP Capstone Diploma, AP Research and Seminar Certificate and AP International Diploma.

AP Scholar with Distinction – granted to students who receive an average score of at least 3.5 on all AP Exams taken, and scores of 3 or higher on five or more of these exams
National AP Scholar – granted to students in the United States who receive an average score of at least 4 on all AP Exams taken, and scores of 4 or higher on eight or more of these exams
AP International Diploma – a globally recognized certificate awarded to students who display exceptional achievement across a variety of disciplines. Available to international students attending secondary schools outside the U.S. and to U.S. high school students applying to universities outside the country, the APID certifies outstanding academic excellence with a global perspective.
AP Capstone Diploma – granted to students who earn scores of 3 or higher in AP Seminar and AP Research and on four additional AP Exams of their choosing
AP Research and Seminar Certificate – granted to students who earn scores of 3 or higher in both AP Seminar and AP Research
