Students visit Capitol for Leadership Experience

Nov. 29, 2018

Leadership Experience Pflugerville ISD high school students on Tuesday, Nov. 27 spent time at the Texas State Capitol gaining insight on leadership while visiting with lawmakers as part of the district’s Leadership Experience program. State Sen. Kirk Watson (District 14) took time from his schedule that morning to lend advice and answer questions from 80 students from Connally, Hendrickson, Pflugerville and Weiss high schools.

PfISD Board President Vernagene Mott and Superintendent of Schools Dr. Doug Killian also met with the students, each a high school junior.

Educators nominate PfISD students for Leadership Experience for exemplifying leadership traits among their peers. Students undergo an interview process, with the list narrowed down to 20 students per campus.

Leadership Experience is aimed at helping students cultivate their leadership traits, for the benefit of their campus, community and their future.
