Black Locust, Railroad Construction Nov. 4

Oct. 31, 2019

Attention parents of Brookhollow, Highland Park and Windermere Elementary and Park Crest Middle School,

The City of Pflugerville is starting a pavement rehabilitation project on Black Locust Drive and Railroad Avenue with construction set to begin November 4. The project should be complete in the spring, weather permitting.

The city states this project may affect emergency response vehicles, school bus pickup/dropoff locations, trash service, mail delivery, walking routes to schools and residential street parking. Our PfISD Transportation Department will monitor the road construction throughout this process. Any changes to your child’s pickup and dropoff will be communicated.

Pavement rehabilitation may include some handicap ramps in the area. No other sidewalk work will be included other than the ramps. However, the city does want to inform residents that some sidewalks may be closed at various times due to the concrete work on those ramps.

Construction will be in the following locations with traffic modifications:
· Black Locust between Grand Avenue Parkway and Heatherwilde – two phases so that one lane of traffic will be open in both directions at all times and no parking will be allowed during the duration of the project.
· Railroad between FM 1825/Pecan St. and Wilbarger – two phases so that one lane of traffic will be open during work hours with a flagger.  No parking will be allowed during work hours on Railroad.  Work hours are between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.
· A small drainage issue will also be included on the south side of Cactus Blossom between Heatherwilde and Dashwood Creek.

If you have any further questions, please contact PfISD Transportation Department at 512-594-0450 or email transportation@pfisd.net.
