PfISD schools named to Texas Honor Roll
June 26, 2019
Parmer Lane Elementary, Pflugerville High School and Windermere Elementary have been named to the Educational Results Partnership (ERP) 2018-19 Texas Honor Roll for high achievement in student success.
The Pflugerville ISD schools were among 855 public schools in Texas recognized.
“I’m so delighted to see the recent accomplishments of these schools recognized through the Honor Roll,” said PfISD Superintendent of Schools Dr. Doug Killian. “Our students and staff have worked so hard toward student achievement, so it’s nice to see ERP spotlight their efforts.”
The 2018-19 Honor Roll is developed by ERP, a nonprofit organization aiming to improve student outcomes and career readiness through applied data science. ERP maintains a database on student achievement, utilizing this data to identify higher-performing schools and districts.
Schools that receive the Honor Roll distinction have demonstrated high levels of student academic achievement, improvement in achievement levels over time, and a reduction in achievement gaps among student populations. For high schools, the Honor Roll recognition also includes measures of college readiness.
Data from the Texas Education Agency’s 2017-18 Texas Academic Performance Reports (TAPR) was used to identify Texas Honor Roll schools.
Parmer Lane, Pflugerville High School and Windermere Elementary each received the highest rating possible on the 2017-18 TAPR.
For Parmer Lane, the Met Standard rating was accompanied by Distinction Designations in academic achievement in reading, math and science; Comparative Academic Growth, Closing the Gaps and postsecondary readiness.
For Pflugerville High School, the Met Standard rating was accompanied by Distinction Designations in academic achievement in reading, math, science and social studies; Comparative Academic Growth; and postsecondary readiness.
For Windermere Elementary, the Met Standard rating was accompanied by Distinction Designations in academic achievement in reading and science, Comparative Academic Growth and Closing the Gaps.
