Pflugerville ISD has received the Certificate of Excellence in Financial Reporting from the Association of School Business Officials International. ASBO recognized PfISD as a district that met the program’s high standards for financial reporting and accountability for fiscal year ended 2018.
PfISD Chief Operating Officer Ed Ramos said the District is honored to recognized for its commitment to transparency in its financial reporting.
“At Pflugerville ISD we take the role of educating our students seriously and as we are funded by state and federal dollars we also want parents and taxpayers to know that we are managing that money in a responsible manner,” Ramos said. “Being open and transparent with how we spend money on the education of our students in PfISD is important to building a trusting relationship with those parents and taxpayers. Receiving this recognition from ASBO for our financial reporting is a testament to PfISD’s dedication in financial transparency.”
By participating in the COE program, school districts demonstrate their commitment to financial transparency. Applicants submit their CAFR for review by a team of professional auditors, who provide feedback to improve future documents. If the CAFR meets the requirements of the program, the document may receive the Certificate of Excellence. A district’s participation in the COE program can facilitate bond rating and continuing bond disclosure processes.
