Off-Campus Physical Education

The purpose of the OCPE Program is to accommodate students who are making a serious effort to develop higher-level skills in a specific activity that exceed what the school district can offer through the general physical education program.  The program is a cooperative arrangement between Pflugerville ISD, the student, and an approved off-campus agency selected by the student. Activity programs that may be considered for the physical education credit are swimming, diving, dancing, rowing, fencing, equestrian, ice hockey or ice skating, gymnastics, martial arts, weight lifting, lacrosse, ballet, synchronized swimming, and boxing.

Counselor: Give guidance on process and filling out correct forms for submission.

Students: The deadline to apply for OCPE is June 1. Initially, a completed application should be submitted to the campus counselor. Any information needed by a parent or student should be requested at the campus the student will attend. A student returning to the program, at the same campus, and with the same agency will yearly submit a recommendation letter from the agency to continue in the program.

Agency Applications: Any agency private or commercially-sponsored must provide documentation to the PFISD Curriculum and Instruction Department that demonstrates exceptional quality, a professionally trained staff, and the use of standards to verify participation of the student. New agency applications are accepted Jan. 1 - July 1, however, a completed and approved application must be on file prior to any student approval to the PfISD OCPE program for both Category 1 and Category 2 before a student will be eligible.

Approved agencies

Any agency that has been inactive for 2 years will be terminated and asked to re-submit an application to the district's all agencies will have the opportunity every year (Jan. 1 - July 1) to update any former information that may have changed.
