Delayed or Denied Evaluations & Compensatory Services: Special Education
Compensatory services are used to help students make up for progress or skills they lost when their special education services were not provided. This includes situations where a child does not get special education services because he or she was denied a timely initial evaluation, but later found eligible.
If an initial evaluation was denied when it should not have been, compensatory services may be needed to make up for the delay in your child getting special education services.

College Board’s PSAT/NMSQT will be administered on October 13, 2021 at CHS, HHS, PHS & WHS. Homeschooled students eligible to attend school in PfISD may contact their zoned campus to register for the test. Call the campus main number and ask for the PSAT/NMSQT coordinator no later than Friday, October 1.
Homeschooled students should be prepared to show photo identification and comply with all district and campus policies, including COVID-19 protocols, while on campus to participate in the PSAT/NMSQT administration. Participants must arrive no later than 9am and report directly to the main office. The test has a total testing time of 2 hours and 45 minutes. Additional time is required to distribute and collect materials. Homeschool participants will be dismissed from campus at the conclusion of the administration.

House Bill 2840 (Codified as Texas Government Code 551.007) - Public Comments at Posted Board Meetings
*NEW UPDATE: On September 1, 2019 House Bill 2840, codified at Texas Government Code 551.007, went into effect. This provides the opportunity for public comment at every posted meeting of the board of trustees including workshops, special meetings, etc. In accordance with the provisions of Texas Government Code 551.007 regarding public comment, the District allows for public comment at its board meetings. For board meetings that have been designated as Board Workshops, comments may pertain to an item posted on that meeting’s agenda as well as issues unrelated to that meeting’s agenda. For all other board meetings, comments must pertain to an item posted on that meeting’s agenda. We recognize the importance of evacuating people from our buildings in an emergency. We have provisioned the use of Evac Chair’s (where appropriate) for safe egress of mobility impaired/disabled persons as per our evacuation planning.

Pflugerville ISD to Dispose of Outdated Files
Pflugerville Independent School District will destroy outdated special education records of students who have not received services from PfISD since December 2012. The records are scheduled to be destroyed April 13, 2018. Parents or former students who wish to keep their records should contact the Special Education Department at (512) 594-0160 before April 2, 2018.
