The Academic UIL Team competes against other PfISD middle schools in speaking, writing, and tested events. Practices are typically twice a month and vary based on what event a student participates in. Speaking events include: Modern Oratory, Impromptu Speaking, and Oral Reading. Writing events include: Ready Writing and Editorial Writing. Tested events include: Science, social studies, spelling, mathematics, calculator applications, chess puzzle, listening comprehension, number sense, and maps, graphs, and charts. The practice competition takes place in December, and the district competition will take place Saturday, February 10, 2024 at Hendrickson High School. DMS Gamma Sigma Girl Scouts Sponsor: Jean Darnell

The Gamma Sigma GS chapter meets monthly in the library on Wednesdays immediately following dismissal (3:35-4:15 pm). It's completely FREE to join our chapter. We will sell GS cookies Spring 2024, so please contact ΓΣ member or Ms. Darnell to place your order. 

DMS Garden Club Sponsors: Cindy Maroquio and Zachary Wilborn

Meets on the 1^st and 3^rd Thursdays of each month immediately after dismissal in Rm B108. The campus garden is outside the "B hallway." This spring, the garden club is growing some vegetables that we enjoy eating.  At the end of the year- we will have a salsa party made from the tomatoes and peppers that we grow.
