Any change requests must go through an AP or counselor, as students can only submit a choice once.

The KLMS Cheerleaders have partnered with the Cheesecake Factory to help with their annual "Peanut Butter Drive" for National Hunger Action Month. This will be a grade level competition for collecting the most peanut butter - including soy, sunflower, and almond butter alternatives (determined by weight, not number of containers) with a prize for the winning class. We will be collecting the week of September 23rd - 27th. To donate, students will bring their contribution to the cheerleaders their grade level hallway (near upper cross hall). Here is a flyer for more information.

What is the new expectation?
-
Students may bring backpacks and store backpacks, drawstring bags and other materials in their lockers - including lunches and items not needed. They have access to their lockers throughout the day.
-
Students may carry a zip binder which can hold loose items needed for class (such as pencils, pens, highlighters, etc.) or a regular binder with a zippered/secured pencil pouch.
-
Students will only use one of the approved bags to carry PE/dance/athletics clothing; the expectation is that the items are stored in the locker until needed. In other words, they are not carrying this bag to all classes, but may need it for the class before/after changing due to their schedule. Approved options are (note: these bags were selected because they do not have zippers, pockets, or bottom panels):
-
The “KLMS” bag that PTO sells - pictured (the cost will be $10, link coming soon, 6th graders will receive one bag with camp registration)
-
The Value Bag (item #8886) from the online PTO store - all colors and graphics are approved, but customizing is not required (it is an extra cost)
-
A plastic, disposable grocery type sack

Come join us for the first 2023-24 PTO Meeting
Wednesday, September 13th at 6:30PM in the KLMS Library.
Dr. Killian will be joining us to explain the Voter-Approval Tax Rate Election (VATRE) on November 7th. This has implications for PfISD school funding and homeowner tax bills. This is an opportunity to learn more about the proposal, ask questions in a familiar and smaller atmosphere, and be an informed voter on November 7th. If you want to familiarize yourself before the meeting, check out the PfISD website. If you are new to Texas, this meeting (or any of the Voter-Approval Tax Rate Election (VATRE) presentations) may be extra beneficial because school funding in Texas is not the same as in other states.
After we discuss the Voter-Approval Tax Rate Election (VATRE), the PTO meeting will continue with grant requests to review and updates on the PTO fundraisers.

Backpack and Drawstring Bag Expectations
