The Texas Bluebonnet Award (TBA) reading program is based on a list created from the Texas Library Association. In order to participate, students in grades 3-6 must have read or listened to 5 books from the list of 20 by the end of January 2013. Students who have completed 5 books are allowed to vote on their favorite book at the end of January. The votes are counted and sent to TBA headquarters and the winner is announced in February.
