Web-based required for all PfISD Employees
These compliance courses will be completed through the district professional learning management system. Most courses open on July 1, 2020 and close on October 16, 2020. Section numbers will be posted in the online version prior to July 1, 2020 and communication will be sent via email. Instructions on how to register are located on our district website at http://www.pfisd.net/Page/359. All compliance training must be completed by October 16, 2020 (with the exception of the Employee Handbook due September 1, 2020).

Dyslexia/Dysgraphia Training
Per TEC §21.054(b) and district procedures, all instructional staff and support staff (i.e., Instructional Coaches, Classroom Teachers, Campus Administrators, Campus §504 Coordinators, LSSP/Educational Diagnosticians, SLPs, Educational Associates) are to receive training on dyslexia & dysgraphia; including characteristics, local policies and procedures for assessing, identifying, instructing, and accommodating students with dyslexia & dysgraphia. GT Thirty (30) Hour Foundation Training
Prior to assignment of an elementary GT cluster class, Pflugerville learning extensions (Pflex) intervention, Accelerated/Pre-AP/ and or AP class, teachers who provide instruction and services that are part of the gifted services have a minimum of thirty (30) clock hours of professional learning. Learning includes:
- Six hours - nature and needs of gifted/talented students,
- Six hours - identification and assessment of gifted/talented students’ needs,
- 18 hours - curriculum and instruction for gifted/talented students.
2020 Spring/Summer 30-hour GT Foundation ONLINE training available: Access the online GT (30) thirty hour foundation training by completing this Google Form (←click). Registration information and the code to access the TAGT on-demand modules will appear once the form is complete. Follow the instructions that appear to gain access to the Responsive Learning, TAGT on-demand learning modules. Training should be complete by August 30, 2020. Follow the instructions included with the code to gain access to the Responsive Learning, TAGT on-demand 30 hour training modules.

GT Six (6) Hour Update – PfISD training cycle is June 1 – May 1.
Teachers providing GT services in PFISD: elementary GT cluster teachers, PFLEX teachers, Advanced Academic core content teachers. Six-hour updates should be completed annually by teachers serving GT learners each year after the 30-hour Foundation training. The thirty hour foundation training should be taken prior to annual updates.
Campus GT Administrators are responsible for creating a GT Professional Learning Plan for their campus annually. Campuses can choose from a
Menu of GT Professional Learning Options; Campuses can elect to have teachers locate their own training options as well. The first item on the menu is the online TAGT on-demand professional library paid for by the district. Consider using these modules to fulfill training needs or a blend of online learning and face to face PLC meetings. Book study suggestions can be accessed at Hoagies Gifted (←click).
Teachers serving GT Learners will complete a Professional Learning Reflection (<Click) by May 1, 2021. To submit the form for the Professional Learning Reflection, all questions must be answered and documentation of training must be attached to the end of the form. This form is open during the entire training cycle window of June 1, 2020 - May 1, 2021.
