Unit Grade 6 Grade 7 Grade 8 1AClassroom structure and government:Students will use Padlet to develop shared classroom expectations and use GAFE Sheets to identify, record and justify the rules, rights and responsibilities in the shared classroom space.
Responsible Use and Rules: Student will work in groups to create, evaluate and compare classroom rules and present their findings through a Google Slides presentation.Major Settlements: Student groups will use MapMaker to create an interactive map for each assigned settlement area.1BCulture, What is IT?: Students will use EdPuzzle to clip, edit and provide voice over for selected Discovery Education clips that demonstrate cultural traits.
Texas Regions and Adaptations: Students will work in groups to to create an ThingLink interactive map identifying the Major Regions of Texas and provide justification.
Unit 2Events on a Timeline: Students will use the Read, Write, Think Timeline Creator to create an interactive timeline for the significant events that led to the American Revolution. NOTE: This timeline of significant events will be added to during units 4-11
23 Types of Government: Students will create a 1 question Google form to evaluate Autucracy, Oligarchy or Democracy
Eras on a Timeline: Students will use Read, Write, Think to begin a timeline that will include 3 Eras in this unit. NOTE: This timeline will continue through Unit 11
Unit 3They Did What?!: Students will research, evaluate web based information for authenticity, cite sources, prepare a presentation and prepare to debate their findings on a selected historical figure. Students will research the historical figure for the following:-

4Country Infographic: Students will create an Inforgraphic using the web app Easel.ly to showcase an assigned country.
BioCube: Students will use the Read, Write, Think BioCube and online safe search sites to collect information on an assigned historical figure and cite their sources in MLA format.
Today's Meet: Student groups will participate in the Constitutional Convention as a historical figure and contribute by text important discussion topics including strengths and weaknesses of the Articles of Confederation from the historical figures point of view.
5Events - Cause - Effect: Students will use the web app Thing Link to create an interactive political cartoon poster.
Government Power Limits: Students will create a Google Slides presentation identifying, describing and evaluating the 7 Principles of Government.
American History Vocabulary: Students will create an online game in Quizlet or Cram to practice and reinforce vocabulary terms, significant people and events discussed in class.
