Career and Technical Education (CTE)
Pflugerville ISD Career and Technical Education provide career and postsecondary preparation for over 8,000 students across the District with CTE programming in all four comprehensive high schools and the seven middle schools. Students can explore careers in twelve of the fourteen Texas career clusters including Health Science, Engineering, Automotive Technology, Agriculture, Information Technology and more!
Our programs provide students with opportunities to engage with industry experts and/or simulate industry environments while building academic and technical skills, including employability skills. One way we connect students to our local business community is through the REAL World Pflugerville Career Connection event. Hosted in the early spring semester businesses are invited to set up a display and share with small groups of students more about their organization and preparing for success in the industry.
As there continues to be an increased need for employees in many industries in our region it is the goal of the PfISD CTE team to implement programs that are developed through collaboration with postsecondary and industry partners so that all students graduate ready for their next steps and employers have a work-ready pool of candidates, right here in central Texas.
