PRINCIPAL'S BIOGRAPHY
Mrs. Alma Ramirez
Mrs. Ramirez holds a Master of Science in Educational Administration from Texas A&M University-Kingsville. She also holds a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies from Texas A&M University-Kingsville. Additionally, Mrs. Ramirez has attended several military training institutions such as First Sergeant Academy, Airmen Leadership School, Noncommissioned Officer Academy and Senior Noncommissioned Officer Academy. Mrs. Ramirez also holds two Associate Degrees through the Community College of the Air Force in Information Management and Human Resource Management.
Mrs. Ramirez began her educational career in San Diego, TX at Collins-Parr Elementary School as a 4th grade teacher. She also taught first and fourth grade in Alice ISD where in 2015 she was recognized as teacher of the year for Noonan Elementary School. Her first role as an assistant principal was at William Adams Middle School in Alice ISD. In the summer of 2016 Mrs. Ramirez relocated to central Texas and served at Farley Middle School as an assistant principal for three years. She joined Westview Middle School this school year as an assistant principal where she has made many positive contributions to the success of the campus.
Previous to her career in education, Mrs. Ramirez has been a member of the United States Air Force for 22 years. She enlisted in the United States Air Force in March of 1998 and graduated from Basic Military Training at Lackland Air Force Base. During her active duty time Mrs. Ramirez was part of the Maxwell-Gunter Honor Guard and was recognized as the Maxwell-Gunter Honor Guard member of the year. In 1999 she was also recognized as the Air War College Outstanding Airman of the Year. After completing her active duty time she joined the reserves in July 2002. In 2003 she became part of the 433rd Airlift Wing JBSA-Lackland Air Force Base, TX where she has held several positions across various squadrons. In 2005 she was activated in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and in September 2009 Mrs. Ramirez deployed in support of Operation Enduring Freedom to Kandahar Airfield, Afghanistan. As a result of her passion for always taking care of people, in November of 2012 Mrs. Ramirez was became a First Sergeant and served in this role for eight years. As a First Sergeant she served as a vital link between the commander, enlisted personnel, and support agencies. Currently, Mrs. Ramirez holds the rank of MSgt and continues her military duty at JBSA-Lackland Air Force Base.
She is excited about the opportunity to lead Westview Middle School in her new role as Principal. Mrs. Ramirez’s educational and personal experiences have afforded her the opportunity to collaborate with a diverse group of people in order to reach a common goal. As a school leader, Mrs. Ramirez has dedicated her time and efforts to looking for ways to improve our educational experiences with students, parents, and teachers. She is always looking for ways to continue improving our school community. Through collaboration with all stakeholders, hard work, and determination she will ensure success of all students.
