    Dear Wildcat Families,

My name is Will Jaramillo, and I am excited to introduce myself as the Westview Middle School principal! I am entering my 17th year in education. My journey began as a high school math teacher in 2007 after becoming a first-generation college graduate from St. Edward’s University. I also served as a math curriculum writer and worked as an instructional coach for Breakthrough Austin (now Breakthrough Central Texas), which is a program designed to support future first-generation college graduates.

In 2013, I attended the Harvard Graduate School of Education to pursue my master’s degree in School Leadership and completed my program in May 2014. During the past 9 years, I have assumed the positions of assistant principal, middle/high school principal, and associate principal. In each of my positions, I have focused heavily on designing systems that support student achievement as well as building positive relationships with staff, students, and parents.

I am excited to join the Wildcat community and cannot wait to meet our staff and students! I firmly believe in our vision statement in which we are committed to providing a “safe learning community where every student matters and every moment counts,” along with our commitment to maintaining high expectations (academic and behavioral), empowering excellence, and developing personal growth. In reflecting on my personal educational experience as well as my time as an educator, I firmly believe every student deserves the best education every day! We will work hard to celebrate and recognize our staff and students, and we will maintain a focus on academic excellence!

Again, I am honored for this opportunity and look forward to seeing our students in the hallways and at their school-related events!

    Will Jaramillo, Principal
