Interpretation Services
The Multilingual Department facilitates interpretation (spoken/signed) services to all PfISD campuses to better serve the families of our emergent bilingual students. For spoken languages, we use Propio, a company specialized in education, with over-the-phone on demand service and over 350 available languages. We also offer American Sign Language interpretation services through Communication by Hand. Additionally, we facilitate in-person and virtual requests, if the situation requires it.
Any campus professional staff member can use Propio for over the phone interpretation without approval. In-person or virtual interpretation requests must be made by a campus administrator by completing this form. For Special Education calls and other requests, please contact Stephen.Ratliff@pfisd.net
Materials to identify languages and promote interpreting services will soon be provided for each campus.
Translation Services
The Multilingual Department also offers translation (written) services to help district departments support the languages most commonly spoken by students attending Pflugerville ISD schools.
Our department translates:
- District forms that parents need to complete, read and respond
- Important school and district letters & announcements
- District parent and student handbooks
- Curriculum and Instruction and Special Programs documents
- Any other documents that district personnel may consider essential for parents
*Translation services must be requested at least two weeks in advance. Requests are prioritized based on content and need.Campus or district administrators, please send translation requests to translations@pfisd.net.
Please contact Translation, Interpretation and Parent Support Specialist, Stephanie Sanyour, via email or 512-594-0175 for more information.
