The Newcomer Academy at Connally High School provides intensive and targeted English Language instruction in speaking, listening, reading, and writing. Teachers help students learn skills to be successful in the school environment while developing English proficiency.

Teachers implement the state-required curriculum using research-based ESL strategies for English, Science, Mathematics, and Social Studies courses with language support. Students have the opportunity to choose elective classes based on their educational needs and interests. 

After one year, students return to their home campus where they continue to receive ESL support.
