Bio - Ms. Kelly Daniel

 

Kelly Daniel

Ms. Kelly Daniel was elected to the Pflugerville Independent School District (ISD) Board of Trustees in 2023. 

Ms. Daniel is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor of Science in Geology (B.S.) with a concentration in environmental geology and hydrogeology.  Following graduation, she remained in the Austin area, first moving within the boundaries of Pflugerville ISD in 2007, in the north Austin area.  Ms. Daniel is a licensed professional geoscientist (PG) in the State of Texas and a Texas Commission on Environmental Quality licensed Corrective Action Project Manager (CAPM).

She currently works as a Vice President and Area Manager for Kleinfelder, Inc. She oversees Kleinfelder's Construction Materials Engineering and Testing (CoMET) and Construction Management practices in Texas and Oklahoma.  She is the recipient of the prestigious Austin Under 40 Award for the Energy, Mobility, & Transportation Category.  She has been recognized by Engineering News-Record (ENR) as one of the Top 20 Professionals Under 40 in the Texas and Louisiana Area and was selected amongst 300 candidates to be named one of the National Top 20 Under 40 Professionals, appearing on the August cover of ENR in 2019.  In addition to her technical expertise, she was instrumental in establishing Kleinfelder’s first Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion network.  Prior to her time at Kleinfelder, she worked at other civil engineering firms, building her career and skills as a leader for nearly twenty years.

In addition, Ms. Daniel recently completed six years of service on the Pflugerville Education Foundation’s Board of Directors serving as Member-at-Large, Vice-President of Finance, Vice-President of Governance and President during her time on the board.  She serves on the Board of Directors for the National Association of Women in Construction’s Austin chapter, chairing both the Safety & Health Awareness Committee as well as the Community Involvement Committee.  Ms. Daniel is also a member of the Association for Learning Environments and the Women in Transportation Seminar.  She has previously served the District in 2018 as a Strategic Action Team Member focusing on employee retention and served on the Riojas PTO.  She is passionate about serving the community, having spent a decade volunteering for Meals on Wheels and Ronald McDonald House Charities and seasonally serves as a volunteer for the Pflugerville Piranhas and the Pflugerville Area Youth Baseball and Softball League.

Ms. Daniel currently resides in the City of Pflugerville Extraterritorial Jurisdiction with her husband of fourteen years and her two young children who are students in the district.  She is an advocate for science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics (STEAM) education as well as career technical education (CTE).  She is passionate about ensuring that students feel safe, both physically and emotionally when they are at school and ensuring that our educators and staff have the support they need to serve our students.
