Bio - Ms. Renae Mitchell

Renae Mitchell
Renae Mitchell was elected to the Pflugerville Board of Trustees in 2016.

She, along with her husband Oscar, relocated to Pflugerville in 1985. Since then, they've not only raised a family but also established thriving businesses within the community. Their son, Reid, graduated from Hendrickson High School and Rice University with a degree in Environmental Engineering, while their daughter, Reece, is a proud graduate of Weiss High School and is currently pursuing a Biology degree at UMHB with plans to attend medical school.

Renae holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism and Communications from Southeastern Louisiana University. Additionally, through a collaboration between the University of Texas at Austin's McCombs School of Business Executive program and the College of Education, she earned her Masters in Human Resources Development Leadership (MHRDL). Renae has over 25 years of experience in Human Resources Management and Business Development, encompassing executive coaching and leadership training. Her professional journey has included roles with the City of Austin, various Hi-Tech companies, and her ongoing work as a Human Resources Consultant and Executive Recruiter. She and her husband are also the developers and owners of Magnolia Ranch Estates, a 123-acre subdivision in Pflugerville, where she collaborated with Engineers, Travis County, the City of Pflugerville, LCRA, and contractors.

Actively engaged in the Pflugerville community for over 30 years, Renae has dedicated the last 25 years to leadership, volunteerism, and parental involvement in the school district. A graduate of the Leadership Pflugerville program, she has served on the boards of the Pflugerville Education Foundation and the Pflugerville Chamber of Commerce. Renae was also a past member of the Pflugerville Planning and Zoning Commission. Her commitment revolves around supporting students who perform below grade level, ensuring successful progression through grades, and preparing all students for higher education, trade/vocation, or employment upon graduation.

Renae's involvement extends to various roles within the school district, from serving as PTO President and Booster Club President to actively participating in the Pflugerville soccer league, baseball league, and the area Girl Scouts’ council. She is also a prominent leader in her local church.

Renae remains a dedicated and present community leader, actively supporting teachers, students, and parents. Her contributions include raising college scholarship funds for graduating HS seniors, serving as a leader in sports leagues and the Girl Scouts, and being a guiding leader in her church community.
