PfISD currently offers four medical plans administered by BlueCross BlueShield and Healthcare Highways, running from January 1 to December 31. The Medical Plans page will give you further information regarding benefit summary and rates, enrollment, benefit coverage, and submitting claims.

THE DEADLINE TO PROVIDE 1095C FORMS IS MARCH 1, 2024. PfISD WILL MAIL THE FORMS TO EMPLOYEES NO LATER THAN THE DUE DATE.

If you need a copy of your 1095C, contact the Benefits Department. Form 1095-C is an annual reporting form used in connection with the Affordable Care Act. Form 1095-C includes information about the health insurance coverage offered to you and, if applicable, your family. You may need to submit information from Form 1095-C to your income tax filing.

The Affordable Care Act IRS Reporting

The FSA/Section 125 program is a tax-savings plan governed by the rules of Section 125 of the Internal Revenue Code. An important rule for Section 125 plans is that you cannot change your election choice to participate during the calendar year unless you or your dependent(s) experience a Qualifying Life Event (QLE).

Dependents are defined as listed in the Summary Plan Description of your medical plan. Elections that are not eligible to be changed without a QLE include medical, dental, vision, cancer, Health Care Flexible Spending Account (HCFSA) and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Account (DCFSA). Changes must be made within 60 calendar days of any applicable QLE. 

The Privacy Notice describes how medical information about you may be used and disclosed and how you can get access to this information.

The Health Insurance Marketplace is available to assist you in evaluating healthcare options for you and your family. The Marketplace/Exchange Notice provides some basic information about employment-based health coverage offered by PfISD. 

The district does not make withdrawals from your earnings for social security benefits. However, you may refer to the Social Security System if you have previous social security withdrawals.

The 80th Texas Legislature passed House Bill 2427 which amended the Districts responsibilities with regard to determining whether the District offers health care coverage to employees that is comparable to HealthSelect, the coverage provided to state employees. When comparing the employee medical plans offered by Pflugerville ISD with plans made available through HealthSelect they are comparable.  Pflugerville ISD is in compliance with all other requirements of Section 22.004 of the Education Code.
