A new healthcare experience coming soon to Pflugerville ISD. Introducing Frontier Direct Care, a personalized primary care experience funded by PfISD with no additional cost to employees. With Frontier Direct Care, you'll see the same primary doctor every visit, building a trusted relationship that supports your long-term health. Appointments  are flexible and convenient. Schedule online and choose how you connect, whether in person or virtually, text or email. If you need a specialist, your Frontier primary care physician will refer you and a dedicated concierge team will handle everything from finding the provider, coordinating payment to ensuing follow-up care. Best of all, you pay nothing additional for primary or specialist care with Frontier's network.

Frontier Direct Care is an extra benefit, not a replacement for your current health plan. You can use whichever district health plan you choose for any of your medical needs. You must enroll in one of PfISD health plan in order to be eligible to access health care through Frontier Direct Care.

Help Us Support Your Transition

Are you currently enrolled in a BCBS medical plan and receiving ongoing care from an established provider? The PfISD Benefits Department is available to help you begin the transition process before the new medical plans take effect on January 1, 2027.

Email Benefits@pfisd.net and let us know that you need continuity-of-care assistance. Out team will guide you through the next steps and help determine what information may be needed. 

How We Can Help

The Benefits Department is working directly with Healthcare Highways and Frontier to support employees with Established care needs.

• We can submit provider nominations to Healthcare Highways for providers who are not currently participating in its network.
• We can also submit provider nomination to Frontier so their team can explore contracting opportunities before January 1, 2027. REMINDER! Frontier does not have a network, they are able to contract with any provider.
• When appropriate, we can provide information about the continuity-of-care process for ongoing treatment. 

Provider nomination initiate outreach but do not guarantee that a provider will join the Healthcare Highways network.
