Dear Cub Families,
My name is Leslie Oduwole. Please allow me to express my joy, as I introduce myself to you, as the new Assistant Principal of Copperfield Elementary. I am beyond excited and privileged to have been chosen to join Mrs. Arenaz and her amazing faculty here at Copperfield Elementary.
Education has been my career focus for the past ten years. I have held positions as Teacher, Athletic Head Coach, Mentor, Student/Parent Liaison and Administrative Intern. Currently, I have Master's Degrees in Education, Social Work and Psychology. In these roles, I have and will continue to advocate Equity for all children. My belief is that all students can and will succeed if instructional resources and equitable practices are in place and are accessible.
As your Assistant Principal, I want the best for your children. I believe that all children can succeed when their social, emotional and educational needs are met consistently and with intention. I'm excited to learn about your children's interests, values, passions, abilities and learning styles. My strong belief in family and the vital importance of family structure as it relates to students' success.
I am a third-generation educator who is married and the parent of two beautiful children. Both are in elementary as well. My daughter, Makyah is 7 years old. She loves sports, is very creative, but also shy. My son, Elijah is 5 and an athlete as well. He loves to build things with his hands.
Our awesome staff and I look forward to working with you. We will help your children succeed academically, socially and emotionally. I would like to get to know my Cub parents, so please feel free to reach out to me via email or phone to introduce yourself. Communication is the key to success. Please communicate any needs or concerns with your child's teacher and myself.
With everything going on right now, we are still going to have an excellent year striving for and pushing our students to be the best. We are in this together. Together, we will strive to thrive!
