    Introduction

    Dear Parents,

I would like to take this opportunity to formally introduce myself to you and your children.  My name is Diego Perezchica and I have been a teacher in El Paso and Austin, Texas for eight years.  Three of those years I taught Bilingual Education in the second and third grade levels.  I have also been a fitness educator for 7 years in a bilingual setting.  I have learned throughout the years that with knowledge, patience, creativity and passion, I am able to give the best education I can give to any age group who is committed to learning.

I was born and raised in El Paso Texas and my first language is Spanish.  I am proud to say that I am a descendant of a Mexican family who has taught me the meaning and value of the words humility, honesty, responsibility, hard work and respect.  This type of surrounding also gave me a wonderful advantage of allowing me the ability to communicate by speaking, writing and educating in both English and Spanish.

I have the privilege to be appointed as the Spanish Immersion teacher at Riojas Elementary. As an experienced Bilingual teacher, I am both honored and exited to begin implementing training and knowledge, aligned with Pflugerville ISD curriculum, into the program.  I would like to work on creating successful 2nd graders along with Riojas staff and you, our parents.  I hope to create wonderful, professional relationships so that we may better our children's education and give them that same opportunity many of us have had throughout our life.  I want to give them the opportunity of "choice for success" in their future.

I would like to end this letter by attaching a small questionnaire for you so that I may get to know our students a bit more than just in a classroom setting.  It is important for me to know who they are as children at home.

Thank you very much for all of your patience and commitment to education,

    Diego Perezchica
