    Hello, Windermere Elementary Families,

We are incredibly excited the district has informed us that parents and visitors will be allowed back on campus starting Monday, March 21st. We will return to campus policies that were in place prior to Covid protocols. At this point, students are used to walking into the building on their own, so I encourage allowing them to continue doing so to avoid traffic jams. As we make this transition back to welcoming visitors, we are asking any parents or visitors entering the building to please park in the parking lot and follow the procedures below:

    • Parents and visitors will be welcomed into the building after they sign in through the Raptor system in the West Wing (Grand Avenue side) office entrance. Please bring a valid ID.
    • Parents are welcome to eat breakfast with their child after first signing in and please remember, the bell rings at 7:35. Children need to be on their way to class at that point.
    • We are asking that parents say goodbye to their child in the hallway before passing the gym, allowing students to walk to class independently.
    • Since there is no sign in system on the East Wing (Picadilly side), parents and visitors should only enter through the West Wing (Grand Avenue side) office entrance.
    • Lunch Visitation: Parents and visitors will sign into Raptor in the office and are encouraged to eat in the foyer or outside at the picnic tables since space is limited in our cafeteria. During this transition period, we are asking that visitors only eat with their children and not take other students with them. We're also asking that parents say goodbye after lunch and allow students to return to the classroom with their classes.
    • Classroom Visits: We are elated to have parents and volunteers back in the building! Guest readers, volunteers, and helpers are very much needed. Please be sure to schedule a time with your child's teacher prior to arrival for classroom visits.

We can't wait to welcome our Eagles back from Spring Break and hope you had a relaxing week away from school. Please click the link or read below to get the full Windermere Update.

  • Windermere Update: 12/6

Posted by David Wiechmann on 12/6/2021

    Good morning Windermere Family,

Happy Monday! I just wanted to reach out and share some WES information with you! THANK YOU so much for all of the Thanksgiving Pies! Our well-deserved staff were so thankful.

    • We have 9 more school days until the Winter Break and we are continuing to encourage positive behavior. Please help us by speaking with your child(ren) in the evening, discussing their day, encouraging positive choices and following all school/classroom expectations.
    • We also want to stress the importance of students being at school, on time, each and every day! We want to see the students learning, happy and healthy each day - as daily attendance is very important! The tardy bell rings each day at 7:35 a.m. and students are expected to be ready for learning at this time.
    • We have a lot of clothing and hats in the lost and found. Please send a note to your child's teacher if something is missing, so that they can find time to search together.
    • Wednesday, December 8 - Please look for the 3rd grade Winter Performance to be sent, virtually.
    • Saturday, December 11 - Pre-K through 2nd grade students will be able to participate in Literacy Day at WES. The flyer will be coming home this week with your child.
    • Next Friday, December 17, we will be having class parties. Teachers will be in communication about specifics but it's important to know that the only snacks and drinks permitted are to be store-bought and individually packaged. Again, teachers will have more information specific to their class parties. Please know that this is a 1/2 day at school with dismissal at noon Please make arrangements to have your children picked up on time from school.

Have a wonderful and safe holiday season and we look forward to a wonderful 2022,

    Dr. Trenae Hill, Principal
    Windermere Elementary

    Windermere Elementary family,

I am back and it's been a week of firsts for me all over again! I have already built a relationship with kids and staff members that I didn't get a chance to prior to leaving. That makes me happy and excited for the positive relationships moving forward! We are beginning a new month and new beginnings! Please encourage your child to be the best them they can be, as I will encourage them here as well! Enjoy your Thanksgiving break in a few short weeks!
