Return to Learn

  • We will continue to monitor the variants of COVID-19 and encourage a multi-layered approach to minimize spread. We will continue to follow the guidelines of Centers for Disease Control (CDC), the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS), and Austin Public Health (APH).

    To help minimize the spread of COVID-19 and to keep our students, teachers, staff, and families safe, we encourage:

    • getting vaccinations and boosters for anyone who qualifies (free vaccination clinics for Travis County and Williamson County);
    • staying home if you are feeling sick or symptomatic;
    • testing if you feel sick and following isolation guidelines if you are COVID-19 positive; and
    • maintaining hygiene protocols like washing your hands, using sanitizer, and avoiding touching your face.

    Our district has invested in Bipolar Ionization units in all of our campuses to combat the COVID-19 virus and improve indoor air quality throughout our campuses.

    Return to work

    Employees who are COVID-positive no longer need to report their diagnosis to the Human Resources Department.

    Physician Administered COVID Test – may return after following doctor’s orders

    COVID Home Test – may return after symptoms improve, are fever-free for 24 hours without fever-reducing medicine, and must follow CDC guidelines.

    COVID is treated as any other illness and requires documentation if out on a non-discretionary day.
