2023 PfISD High School Commencement
at The PfieldGates Open at 7:30 a.m. | Ceremony Begins at 8:30 a.m.
PfISD graduation ceremonies will be held at The Pfield.
- Tuesday, May 30 – Hendrickson HS
- Wednesday, May 31 – Pflugerville HS
- Thursday, June 1 – Connally HS
- Friday, June 2 – Weiss HS
- Friday, June 2 – PACE - Pflugerville High School Performing Arts Center at 11:30 a.m.
Please drop off your graduate at the tent area in front of the Field House by 7:30 a.m. on their graduation date.
We will make every effort possible to hold graduation ceremonies on the scheduled date(s), even if it means a delay. Although we have June 3 scheduled as a make-up day for graduations, this does not necessarily mean any postponed ceremonies will be moved to Saturday. We will attempt to make up graduations as soon as possible as our weather on Saturday is not guaranteed as well. We will communicate about any changes to our graduation ceremonies via text, phone, email, and social media. For more information regarding signing up for texting, please visit our website www.pfisd.net.
Updates will be posted here and on the district's social media channels and sent via email to parents of seniors.
We understand the importance of graduation to our seniors and their parents, as well as the importance to our campus and district administrators to see the culmination of their work and watch our students walk the graduation stage.
Updates will be posted here and on the district's social media channels, as well as sent via email to parents of seniors.
Please note that The Pfield is a Clear Bag Venue and is equipped with metal detectors at all Guest Entrances.
Please remember that although the ceremony is outdoors, this is NOT a football game or athletic event. This is a formal ceremony that many students and their families have worked toward for the past 18 years, and we want to ensure everyone has a wonderful graduation experience. Please limit loud conversations, standing and blocking others in their seats, or creating a negative experience for others, just as you would at an indoor arena.
We have created this webpage to outline the procedures put in place to ensure the safety of our students, staff, and spectators. Please refer to the sections below for more information on our 2023 commencement events.

Bad Weather Make Up
Although we have June 3 scheduled as a make-up day for graduations, this does not necessarily mean any postponed ceremonies will be moved to Saturday. We will attempt to make up graduations as soon as possible as our weather on Saturday is not guaranteed as well. We will communicate any changes to our graduation ceremonies via text, phone, email and social media. For more information regarding signing up for texting, please visit our website at www.pfisd.net.
We are doing everything in our power to provide this experience in a safe manner for all involved. Thank you for your help and understanding.
-
Before The Ceremony
We ask that all seniors please turn in their student devices prior to Graduation, and settle any other issues at the campus level such as overdue library books or fines which may prevent them from walking the stage. If you have any questions regarding this, please reach out to your campus.
-
Ceremony
This year’s ceremony will be broadcast on the screen of the jumbotron with the main components of the graduation pre-recorded including addresses from the Superintendent, Principal, Valedictorian, Salutatorian, Class Officers, PfISD Board of Trustees President, and the tassel change. After the welcome and addresses, students’ names will be read from the Pressbox and students will walk across the stage and receive their diploma covers. At this time they will also have their photo taken. Students will then do the changing of the tassels and hear their alma mater one more time. Students WILL NOT be allowed to throw their caps.
Please note that although we have relaxed our dress code due to the environment, this is still a formal ceremony and one that many people have worked hard to achieve. We ask that our graduates recognize this formal occasion and conduct themselves appropriately while in the audience and while walking across the stage.

Tickets
In the event that a graduation is unable to be held due to weather, AND cannot be reschedule during the week due to weather constraints, we will hold graduations indoors at one high school facility. If a graduation ceremony is moved indoors, each graduate will be given 2 tickets for family members/guests to view the graduation ceremony due to space constraints. Every guest MUST have a ticket in order to gain entrance to the facility. Any toddlers who will not occupy a seat, may enter the stadium without a ticket. Tickets will be distributed to students by their campuses before the end of the school year. Again, these tickets will ONLY be utilized if the graduation ceremony is moved indoors. THERE WILL BE NO WILL CALL or TICKET DISTRIBUTION AT THE STADIUM ON THE DAY OF THE CEREMONY.
