This summer was a season of transformation across Pflugerville ISD as the Bond 2022 program continued to deliver meaningful upgrades to campuses. This summer was a season of transformation across Pflugerville ISD as the Bond 2022 program continued to deliver meaningful upgrades to campuses. From full-scale renovations to technology enhancements and athletic facility improvements, the district’s Facilities and Construction team worked diligently to ensure students and staff returned in the fall to more modern, comfortable, and inspiring spaces.

One of the most visible impacts of the summer work came through campus renovations. Rowe Lane Elementary underwent a full campus refresh, while Dessau Middle School received updated administrative offices, classrooms, restrooms, and library spaces. At Highland Park Elementary and Park Crest Middle School, restroom renovations modernized heavily used spaces, creating a cleaner and more welcoming environment.

Connally High School saw important updates as well, including new data cabling to support instructional technology and ongoing restroom upgrades in the competition gym, which are scheduled for completion this fall.

“Our team is working hard to fulfill the promise we made to voters in passing Bond 2022,” Chief Operations Officer Victor Valdez said. “These upgrades are not just about maintaining buildings—they are about keeping our facilities up to date so that every student has the best possible environment for learning.”

The arts also benefited from Bond 2022 investments, with significant progress made on Performing Arts Center (PAC) upgrades across the district. Both Connally and Hendrickson high schools are nearing completion of their renovations, which include new audio systems designed to elevate the student and community performance experience. Pflugerville High School’s PAC is also in the midst of its upgrade, with completion scheduled for September.

Technology upgrades were another highlight of the summer. Projector replacements in elementary classrooms were completed in two phases, along with full replacements at Weiss High School. In addition, the 2025 summer computer replacement cycle was finalized, ensuring that teachers and students alike have reliable devices to support learning in the classroom.

Athletic spaces received a notable boost as well. Gymnasium floors at several campuses were refinished, sanded, and updated with school logos and colors—improvements that not only enhance safety and durability but also build school spirit. Meanwhile, Pflugerville and Connally high schools unveiled brand new athletic turf this summer. Installed by Paragon Sports Construction, the turf features the latest in sports surface technology, offering vibrant designs, improved comfort, and innovative cooling properties that create a safer and more enjoyable playing environment for student-athletes. At Weiss High School, a new weight room is also on track for completion later this fall, further expanding training opportunities for students.

As Bond 2022 enters its third year, the impact of these projects is becoming more visible across Pflugerville ISD. From classrooms and performance halls to gyms and technology labs, the work completed this summer reflects the community’s investment in the future of its students. With more upgrades on the horizon, PfISD remains committed to creating learning environments that are modern, safe, and inspiring for every student. ◆
