Pflugerville ISD is proud to recognize 66 students who earned the AP Capstone Diploma™ and 11 students who earned the AP Seminar and Research Certificate™ during the 2024–25 school year.
AP Capstone is a college-level, project-based program that helps students strengthen critical thinking, research, collaboration, and presentation skills.
To earn the AP Capstone Diploma, students must score a 3 or higher in AP Seminar, AP Research, and four additional AP Exams. Students who complete AP Seminar and AP Research with scores of 3 or higher receive the AP Seminar and Research Certificate.
More than 3,500 schools worldwide participate in AP Capstone. Last year, about 27,650 students earned the AP Capstone Diploma and 12,430 earned the AP Seminar and Research Certificate.
PfISD students explored topics ranging from mental health and media to environmental art, machine learning, and scientific research.
“The AP Capstone program reignites curiosity in the classroom,” said Bianca Peart, global director of the AP Capstone Diploma program. “Students are discovering how their voices and ideas can make an impact.”
College Board leaders say the program equips students with the foundational skills needed for success in higher education and future careers.
AP coursework also offers the chance to earn college credit, save on tuition, and build confidence in advanced academic settings.
