Pflugerville ISD recently hosted its inaugural Seal of Biliteracy Ceremony, recognizing students who have demonstrated exceptional proficiency in two or more languages. This milestone marks the district’s first formal celebration of students earning the State Seal of Biliteracy and the Global Seal of Biliteracy.

This milestone marks the district’s first formal celebration of students earning the State Seal of Biliteracy and the Global Seal of Biliteracy.
 

The Global Seal of Biliteracy is a nationally recognized certification that validates language proficiency and helps recipients stand out to colleges, universities and employers across the country and abroad. It is awarded to students who meet rigorous standards through testing and academic performance.

In Texas, the State Seal of Biliteracy is designated as a performance acknowledgment by the Texas Education Agency. It is awarded to students who demonstrate high levels of proficiency in both English and another language.
