PfISD Celebrates Major Reduction in Chronic Absenteeism, Joins National Attendance Network

Pflugerville Independent School District (PfISD) is proud to announce substantial progress in reducing chronic absenteeism among students, marking a significant achievement in attendance improvement efforts.

The district's chronic absenteeism rate decreased notably from 20% to 16% over the past year, with even greater improvement in high-needs schools, which saw a reduction from 32% to 23%. These impressive gains are largely credited to strategic initiatives by the district, including the implementation of "EveryDay Labs," a pilot program providing targeted attendance education and personalized intervention strategies.

Reflecting this success, PfISD has been invited to join the prestigious National Attendance & Engagement Meta Network. Through this network, district leaders and staff will collaborate with national experts, exchanging proven methods and data-driven practices aimed at dramatically reducing chronic absenteeism across diverse educational settings.
