PfISD Closes Out 2014 Bond Package
- Bond
Pflugerville ISD has closed out the 2014 Bond Package, completing the eight-year project that included renovations, new facilities and district-wide improvements.
The bond funded construction of Weiss High School, Mott Elementary School and the new Timmerman Elementary School. It also included construction of a new multi-purpose, district-wide stadium. Lovingly dubbed "The Pfield," the stadium hosts varsity activities for all four high schools and various regional and state competitions.
District-wide improvements in the bond included controlled entry vestibules in PfISD campuses; upgrades to electrical systems, fire alarms and sprinkler systems; and technology upgrades for all campuses.
“Managing a bond that includes a high school, two elementary campuses, and several renovations takes a team effort," said Chief Financial Officer Jennifer Land. “It is exciting to officially close out the 2014 bond package and I am happy to see the projects were successfully completed.”
The $287 million bond package was overwhelmingly supported by voters, with nearly 70 percent of voters approving the referendum.
