PfISD earns District B Rating, celebrates gains at 11 campuses in 2026 Accountability Ratings

Pflugerville ISD earned an overall "B" rating from the Texas Education Agency (TEA) in the 2026 state accountability ratings released today, the district's highest overall rating since the 2021-2022 school year, driven by significant academic gains across the district. Notably, no PfISD campus received an overall F rating in 2026.

Eleven PfISD campuses improved their overall letter grade rating from 2025 to 2026:

Three-letter-grade improvement:

• Timmerman Elementary School

Two-letter-grade improvement:

• Westview Middle School

One-letter-grade improvement:

• Mott Elementary School
• Northwest Elementary School
• Pflugerville Elementary School
• Barron Elementary School
• Spring Hill Elementary School
• Park Crest Middle School
• Connally High School
• Weiss High School
• PACE High School

"This is one of the most significant jumps in academic performance our district has seen in years, and it did not happen by chance," said Dr. Quintin Shepherd, Superintendent of Schools. "Our campus leaders took ownership of their data, built strong instructional systems, and held tight to the belief that every one of our students is capable of excellence. To see Timmerman Elementary climb three full letter grades, Westview Middle School climb two, and nine more campuses each move up a grade — that is the direct result of principals and teachers doing the hard, focused work day in and day out. I could not be prouder of what our schools have accomplished, and I am confident this progress is the foundation for even more growth ahead."

In addition to overall rating gains, PfISD campuses earned 34 distinction designations across 16 campuses in 2026 — a 17.2% increase in distinctions over last year. Distinction designations recognize campuses for outstanding achievement and progress compared to a group of 40 demographically similar schools across the state, and are awarded only to campuses rated A, B, or C.

Five campuses stood out with three or more distinction designations apiece:

• Copperfield Elementary School — 6 distinctions, earning recognition in every eligible category: Academic Achievement in Reading Language Arts, Mathematics, and Science; Top 25% Academic Growth; Top 25% Closing the Gaps; and Postsecondary Readiness.
• Wieland Elementary School — 5 distinctions, in Academic Achievement in Math and Science, Top 25% Academic Growth, Top 25% Closing the Gaps, and Postsecondary Readiness.
• Park Crest Middle School — 3 distinctions, in Academic Achievement in Science and Social Studies, and Postsecondary Readiness.
• Hendrickson High School — 3 distinctions, in Academic Achievement in Reading Language Arts, Science, and Social Studies.
• Pflugerville High School — 3 distinctions, in Academic Achievement in Reading Language Arts, Science, and Social Studies.

"These ratings validate the processes our campus leaders and teams put in place this year: clear goals, consistent progress monitoring, and a relentless focus on closing gaps for every student group," said Dr. Adelaida Olivarez, Deputy Superintendent of Schools. "We are especially proud of how our campus leaders used data to drive real instructional change, and we are thrilled to see that work reflected in these results. This district-wide improvement, together with 34 distinction designations across 16 campuses, shows what is possible when our schools commit to a shared standard of excellence."

Pflugerville ISD will post full 2026 accountability ratings and distinction results to individual campus websites next week.
