PfISD Honors Volunteers and Community Partners Making a Difference

Community pride was on full display as campus leaders and district officials celebrated volunteers, businesses, and organizations at the 2026 PfISD Volunteer and Partner Appreciation Breakfast. Smiles of gratitude shined bright at the celebration honoring those in our community who support education. Each campus was invited to nominate a volunteer and a community partner who goes above and beyond for their school.

During the appreciation ceremony, PfISD Superintendent Dr. Quintin Shepherd thanked volunteers and community partners for all of their efforts this year.

“Whether you’re mentoring a student, supporting a campus event, partnering on programs, or helping behind the scenes, your presence makes a real and lasting difference,” Shepherd said.

PfISD Board of Trustees President Chevonne Lorigo-Johst connected with those in attendance by sharing how her own volunteer work provided an up-close look at the collaborative effort in education.

“I saw the dedication of our teachers, the resilience of our students, and the countless moments, big and small, that shape a child’s future,” Lorigo-Johst said.

District-wide honors for the elementary and secondary Volunteer of the Year went to Rosa Galindo (Carpenter ES) and Beatriz Olalde (Dessau MS). This was the second year in a row that Galindo received this honor. Principal Amanda MacAllister is serving in her first year at Carpenter ES. In her nomination, she mentioned how Galindo makes an impact on campus everyday.

“Rosa Galindo has been a cornerstone of campus life, contributing hundreds of hours to bridge the gap between school and home,” MacAllister wrote.

Receiving district-wide volunteer honors for the middle school and high school level was Beatriz Olalde. Nominating Principal Lacey Ajibola wrote that Olalde has served as a bridge between Dessau MS and the community it serves through increasing teacher appreciation, and providing support for family outreach that has helped grow community input for the campus.The district-wide awards for elementary and secondary Community Partner of the Year honored two area businesses who go above and beyond for education in our community. Melissa Isaac, Realtor was nominated by Hidden Lake ES and H-E-B, The Market at Parmer Lane was honored by Connally HS.

Hidden Lake Principal Barry Miller shared how Melissa Isaac’s realty business supports teachers and staff at the campus.

“Ms. Isaac makes monthly $50 donations to a different teacher each month,” Miller wrote. “She also sponsors our monthly recognition of two employees and provides gift cards for them.”

Connally HS nominating principal Daniel Garcia shared how H-E-B connects to the campus.

“They support our teachers and hire our students,” Garcia wrote.

Kim Clapp, Store Administrator at H-E-B, The Market at Parmer Lane was in attendance along with members of her team. She later expressed her thanks for the recognition.

“It was such an honor, and surprise,” Clapp said. “Connally is such a great school, and we are grateful to have been able to partner with them.”

The Pflugerville Education Foundation was also recognized at the breakfast for two decades of outstanding support of PfISD. The Foundation was honored for their partnership, dedication, and continued support of students and staff in the district. Volunteers and community partners continue to make an impact at Pflugerville ISD. As of last month, there were 3,968 approved PfISD volunteers. District-wide, volunteers this year have contributed nearly 29,000 minutes supporting schools in the district.
