Pflugerville ISD is proud to announce that Daniel Garcia, a longtime leader in the district, has been appointed as the founding principal of the new Pflugerville ISD Career and Technology Education (CTE) Center, scheduled to open in August 2027. Garcia, who has served Pflugerville ISD for 24 years, including 17 years at Connally High School and five years as principal of Hendrickson High School, brings a wealth of experience and a deep connection to the district’s students and families.

Garcia began his journey at Connally High School in July 2000 and quickly found a home in its vibrant and diverse community. Over the course of more than two decades, he has built enduring relationships with students, families, and staff, leaving a legacy of excellence and dedication. His tenure also includes serving as principal of Hendrickson High School, where he expanded opportunities for students and strengthened partnerships between the school and the community.

“Connally High School has been my home for most of my career,” Garcia said. “Having the opportunity to lead the new CTE Center is truly an honor. My experiences at both Connally and Hendrickson High School have given me unique insight into the needs and aspirations of our students. I am excited to help build a place where every student can see a pathway to their future, whether that is through employment, enlistment, or enrollment.”

Superintendent Dr. Quintin Shepherd praised Garcia’s leadership and broad experience across the district. “Daniel’s decades of service and his leadership at two of our high schools uniquely prepare him to guide this new endeavor,” Dr. Shepherd said. “He understands the diverse needs of our students and has a proven record of building strong, supportive learning communities. His experience makes him the perfect choice to lead our CTE Center as we prepare students for the careers of tomorrow.”

Garcia will remain at Connally High School through Spring 2026 and part of the Fall 2026 semester to ensure a seamless leadership transition. He is committed to supporting the selection and onboarding of Connally’s next principal, ensuring the school’s continued success.

The new CTE Center marks a significant milestone for Pflugerville ISD, providing expanded opportunities for students to gain hands-on experience and acquire career-ready skills in high-demand fields. The district will provide additional details about the center’s programs and the leadership transition in the coming months.

“While I am thrilled to embark on this next chapter, Connally will always be home to me,” Garcia added. “I am grateful for the opportunity to continue serving this community in a way that helps prepare our students for a bright future.”
