Homebound Services
Pflugerville ISD provides General Education Homebound (GEH) services to students with qualifying disabilities that require a student to be bound to the bedside or hospital bed so that the student may access FAPE. The district is required to provide services through GEH for students who are in a placement that is located within the boundaries of the school district, either a full-day program or a long-term care facility. The school district will provide assignments, accommodations, and a General Education Homebound teacher to support the students while they are in the facility through Section 504.
Any student who is served through the General Education Homebound Program must meet the following three criteria:
-
The student is expected to be confined at home or hospital bedside for a minimum of four (4) weeks. The weeks need not be consecutive.
-
The student is confined at home or hospital bedside for medical reasons only.
-
The student’s medical condition is documented by a physician licensed to practice in the United States.
