Intra-District Transfer (IDT) Requests
Our Pflugerville ISD team is confident that all of our schools provide a quality, well-rounded education that meets our District students’ diverse needs. We also recognize that in certain situations, parents/guardians may seek choices for their children beyond the school in their attendance zone.
Parents/guardians of a child(ren) enrolled at a Pflugerville ISD school may apply for their student to transfer from their current residence-zoned campus to another district campus. A parent/guardian must submit an online student campus transfer application within the designated application window. The District must allocate campus personnel appropriately. Therefore, transfer applications outside the transfer application window can not be accepted.
Our schools are open to transfers on a staff and space availability basis. The District evaluates space and availability in each grade level and/or program. If the evaluation concludes that staffing or classroom conditions can not accommodate transfer students, the District can not approve the transfer request.
Student transfers to schools designated as open are approved on a space-available basis as long as student behavior, attendance, and academic expectations are met. Students may be denied a transfer if a grade level or program nears capacity. Employees’ children may continue their transfer status or apply at a school closed for transfers if the grade level or program isn’t at capacity.
Once a student receives transfer approval, they may attend their chosen school until they reach the highest grade level offered. They only need to reapply for a transfer once they transition to middle or high school. For example, a student approved to attend second grade may attend that school through fifth grade. Pflugerville ISD can not guarantee a student will be approved to attend the feeder middle or high school. If a student doesn’t meet the attendance, behavior, and academic standards requirements, the District will notify them that they cannot continue their transfer for the next school year, and the student must return to their resident-zoned campus.
Parents may complete the Intra-District Transfer application for their student who lives within the PfISD boundaries and wishes to attend a campus not in their boundary zone.

IDT and Waiver to the 9 Week Rule
If you reside within the district boundaries but your student has never attended a PfISD campus before and is entering a grade level between 1st - 12th grade, you may apply for a transfer, outside of the 9 week rule. If this transfer is approved, you will be required to complete a District Waiver Agreement, waiving your right to appeal a transfer revocation. Should you opt not to complete a District Waiver Agreement, your student will attend the campus zoned to their home campus and a transfer will not be completed by the district.
Records are not requested for new Kindergarten students.
Do not complete this form if your student currently attends Pflugerville ISD.
Do not complete this form if your student is entering Kindergarten for the first time.
Current In-District Transfer Students
Current in-district transfer students must reapply at transition years (e.g., moving from 5th to 6th grade or 8th to 9th grade).
