Summer Programs

Credit Recovery courses are for students who have previously taken a course on campus but failed to earn credit. Students register in these courses through their campus counselor. These courses use an online self-paced curriculum that does not  allow for modification of content or instructional delivery. Credit Recovery courses are not applied to a student's GPA.

Students must contact their school counselor prior to registering for credit recovery courses.

Time: 8:30 am - 12:30 pm

Cost:
$100 fee to recover multiple credits
$50 fee for students receiving free or reduced lunch to recover multiple credits

Credit Recovery Courses

First Time credit is for rising 9-12 grade students who have never taken the course. Students may enroll in these courses ONLY with counselor approval. Students register for these courses through their campus counselor. Students may only register for two half credits (6- 9Wks Credits). Summer school is the month of June and only provides the capacity for students to complete two half credits in 3 weeks.

These courses are an accelerated, teacher-directed curriculum. Course content is provided online by Pearson under the direction of PfISD teachers.

Dates: June 2 - June 18 Monday - Thursday

Time: Teachers available 8:30 am - 12:30 pm
Students may access and complete the course anytime throughout the summer school dates, June 2 - June 18.

Cost:
$100 fee for each ½ credit (1 course)
$50 fee for each ½ credit if student receives free/reduced-price meals

First time Credit Courses

These courses will be offered during the summer for first time credit.

 

This program is intended to prepare students who have not been successful on prior attempts at STAAR EOC tests for the June EOC administration. This intensive and focused STAAR EOC preparation program is designed to empower students with the knowledge, skills, and strategies necessary to achieve mastery on the STAAR End-of-Course exams. STAAR EOC Assessment Preparation will emphasize student strengths and test-taking strategies.

Students who received a score for the STAAR End-Of-Course (EOC) test that did not meet the minimum state standard for the Spring 2024 assessment window are invited to attend the STAAR EOC Preparation Program to provide acceleration and additional support in an effort to help meet the minimum state standard on state assessments in preparation for the summer administrations of each STAAR EOC.

Students will need to bring their charged Chromebooks to EOC Preparation and Testing.
