Student Attendance - Unexcused/Excused Absences 2022-2023

* Students who decided to quarantine must be marked as unexcused.
* Only absences outlined on pages 28-29 of our student handbook will be marked excused; all other absent reasons must be marked as unexcused.
* If a student stays home due to a positive COVID diagnosis, they must provide a doctor’s note for their absences or a lab-confirmed result to be marked as excused.
* Parents and Guardians are encouraged to provide notes for absences not listed on pages 28-29; however, these absences must be marked unexcused.
* Principals do not have the authority to override our student handbook attendance expectations. They cannot excuse absences outside of those listed on pages 28-29. They cannot excuse vacations, etc.
* Regardless if the absence is excused or unexcused, students must be provided the opportunity to make up work as outlined in our policy and regulations
