• Ms. Renae Mitchell ~ Trustee
    Renae Mitchell Renae Mitchell was elected to the Pflugerville Board of Trustees in 2016.
    She and her husband, Oscar, moved to Pflugerville in 1985. Since moving to Pflugerville, they have raised a family and built their business in Pflugerville. Their son, Reid, is a 2012 graduate of Hendrickson High School a 2016 graduate from Rice University with a degree in and now working as an Environmental Engineering. Their daughter, Reece, is a proud student at Weiss HS.
    Renae earned her bachelor of arts degrees in journalism and communications from Southeastern Louisiana University. She also earned her Master of Business Administration (M.B.A)/Master of Education (M.Ed) degree at the University of Texas at Austin from the McCombs School of Business and the College of Education. She has worked in the public and private sectors for over 25 years in human resources management and business development including executive coaching and leadership training. She has worked for the City of Austin and for several tech companies. She also continues to work as an HR Consultant. Renae is the developer and owner of Magnolia Ranch Estates, a multi-family neighborhood in Pflugerville. She has worked with Engineers, Travis County (including County Commissioners), the City of Pflugerville, LCRA, and contractors to develop and manage this 123-acre subdivision. Renae is a well-rounded professional who brings a great skill set to the Pflugerville Board of Trustees.
    As a 30-year resident of Pflugerville, Renae has spent the last 18 years actively involved in the school district and community as a leader, volunteer, and parent. She is truly committed to the Pflugerville Independent School District and the Pflugerville community. She is a 2014 graduate of the Leadership Pflugerville program and a past board member for the Pflugerville Education Foundation and the Pflugerville Chamber of Commerce. She is also a past member of the Pflugerville Planning and Zoning Commission. Her focus includes helping students who perform below grade level and making sure all our students successfully progress to the next grade level and graduate. She also would like to ensure that our kids are prepared upon graduating for higher education, a trade/vocation or a job. As a parent in the Pflugerville school district, she has a passion for creating an environment where students thrive and learn how to make a difference in their world.
    Renae has always been and continues to be a dedicated and very-present community leader and one who helps teachers, students, and parents. She has served as PTO President and Booster Club President for several schools, raising money for scholarships that benefit graduating seniors. She has also served as a leader in the local soccer league, baseball league, and the area Girl Scouts’ council. Renae is also a leader in her church.
