• Mr. Tony Hanson ~ Trustee

Hanson Tony Hanson was elected to the Pflugerville Board of Trustees in 2017.

Mr. Hanson is the eldest son of a single-parent home. His mother valued education and impressed upon her three children to pursue higher education after high school. She sacrificed on a "secretary's" wage to ensure that occurred. After graduating from R. L. Paschal High School in Fort Worth, Texas, he attended Prairie View A&M University in Prairie View, Texas, where he earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting.

Mr. Hanson's professional career started at Prairie View while he was pursuing his undergraduate studies. After graduation, he went to work for the Texas State Auditor's Office and the Texas General Land Office. While at the State Auditor's Office, he worked on audits and special projects involving public schools and universities. At the Texas General Land Office, a state agency that helps fund public education through the Permanent School Fund, he worked as an Internal Auditor, Sr. Program Auditor, Financial Compliance Manager, FEMA Audit Manager, and Agency Ombudsman.

He is a long-time resident of Pflugerville, where he and his wife, Kim, settled to raise two amazing daughters. One a 2017 graduate of PfISD, and the other a current student in PfISD. He is also a Saint Mary Missionary Baptist Church member, where he serves as an Associate Minister. He continues to be involved in his local and surrounding community by mentoring, volunteering, speaking, and training. He is also a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., an organization with a service mission. Before joining the Board of Trustees, he also served on PfISD and City of Pflugerville Citizens Bond Review Committees.

Mr. Hanson has stated, "Each child is unique, and their abilities and backgrounds are different." Because of this, he's striving to ensure each child in PfISD reaches their desired goal, whether it's attending a two-year college, four-year university, trade school, starting their work career, or entering the military after graduation.
