COVID-19 EMPLOYEE GUIDELINES/RESOURCES
PfISD has made adjustments to our current COVID-19 guidance for staff members for the Summer and Fall 2021. Please review these changes below.
Masks: Beginning August 16, 2021, masks are required.
Large Group Gatherings: Beginning July 5, there is no limit to staff/faculty meetings/gatherings
Screen N Go: All staff are required to complete the daily screen and go for COVID-19 symptoms. You do not need to enter a temperature. If you are running a fever or have other COVID-19 symptoms, please stay home.
HR staff will contact employee with protocol regarding 10-day isolation.
Quarantine: As per Austin Public Health Guidance, "Individuals who have been in close contact with someone who has COVID-19 should be advised to quarantine, except for those who:
- are fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and have no symptoms or
- have tested positive for COVID-19 within the past 3 months, recovered, and have no symptoms."
Employees who are not fully vaccinated who meet the close contact threshold (within 6 feet for a total of 15 minutes with or without a mask) with a COVID-19 positive individual, it is recommended that the staff remain off campus during the stay-at-home period.
Per TEA Guidance (8/19/21) For staff who meet the close contact threshold with a COVID-19 positive individual, if these staff continue to work on campus, rapid testing must be performed at the start of the day, at least once every other day until the end of day 10. The day after the exposure is day one. If you miss more than one of your testing days you will be placed in quarantine in lieu of testing. Regardless of the APH guidance above. (TEA supersedes APH)
If employees choose to self-quarantine, they will utilize their leave days as with all illnesses. For those employees who choose to self-quarantine, immediately report the exposure to COVID19HRSupport@pfisd.net and complete the COVID-19 intake form https://forms.gle/huSb21ibnouUtUPK6 (Again, only complete the form if you are choosing to self-quarantine). You will not be able to elect to return earlier and must complete the full 14 days.
You are considered to be fully-vaccinated if it has been 2 weeks after your second dose series of Pfizer or Moderna vaccines or 2 weeks after your single-dose Johnson & Johnson vaccine.
COVID-19 Testing: COVID-19 testing is available through the summer on Monday and Thursday mornings from 7:30-9:30 at PACE. When school resumes, testing will be available at each campus through March 2022.
