May 19, 2023 - Pflugerville ISD Superintendent Dr. Doug Killian announced during Thursday night’s Board meeting that Michelle Martinez will be the next principal of Parmer Lane Elementary School. 

She will begin her new role immediately, replacing Barry Miller, named last month as principal for Hidden Lake Elementary, which will open this fall.

"I am thrilled to bring my experience as a school administrator to this wonderful school. I love to collaborate with my team to create a purposeful and inclusive learning environment where students thrive.” Martinez said. “I look forward to working with the staff at Parmer Lane Elementary to make a positive impact on student achievement."

Martinez has been a principal in Laredo since 2019, where she was named 2019-2020 Laredo Independent New Principal of the Year. She also served as an assistant principal, campus librarian, and elementary teacher in her 21 years with Laredo ISD and United ISD.

“Michelle is a proven administrator who will bring her passion, leadership and vision to Parmer Lane Elementary.” Dr. Killian said. “We are excited to welcome her to the Pflugerville Community.”

Martinez earned her bachelor’s degree in Bilingual Education from Texas A&M International University and has a Master’s in Library Science from Sam Houston Texas University.
