Two Weiss Coaches Reach Career Milestones

Two PfISD coaches have reached significant career milestones during the 2022-23 school year. Coach Daniel Miller achieved his 400th career victory as a Boy's Basketball coach, while Coach Steve Van Meter secured his 200th win as a head football coach.

Coach Miller reached this career-high point when the Weiss High School Boy's Basketball team secured a resounding 58-27 victory against San Antonio Edison on December 9, 2022. He started his coaching career 22 years ago and has since served as an assistant coach at Pflugerville Middle School and Connally High School. He has also held the position of head coach at Manor High School, Frisco Centennial HS, and Georgetown HS.

Coach Steve Van Meter achieved his 200th win as a head football coach on September 16, 2022, with an overtime victory against New Braunfels, with a score of 49-42. His coaching career spans 28 years, during which he has coached at Friendswood HS, Hutto HS, and Weiss HS, securing a total of 200 wins.
