Pflugerville ISD Class of 2021 students celebrated their graduation in commencement ceremonies last week at The Pfield.
The school district hosted five commencement events June 1-4 at the district stadium, for Connally, Hendrickson, Pflugerville and Weiss high schools, as well as for the Pflugerville Academic and Career Education (PACE) program.
Each event was led by PfISD school board trustees, district Superintendent of Schools Dr. Douglas Killian, district administrators and campus staff. They included remarks by Dr. Killian, Board President Renae Mitchell and campus honor graduates, as well as the traditional presentation of graduates.
Connally High School
The festivities began Tuesday, June 1 with Connally High School congratulating its graduates in front of family and friends. A total of 367 Connally students were candidates for graduation this year. Hien Tam Ngoc Pham was named Connally Class of 2021 salutatorian, while Linh Viet Truong was honored as class valedictorian.
Weiss High School
Weiss High School Commencement took place Wednesday, June 2. A total of 438 Weiss students were candidates for graduation, and this class included the first Weiss students to mark all four years of high school at Weiss. Ayesha Bhatti was named Weiss class salutatorian, while Riley Link was named valedictorian.
Hendrickson High School
Hendrickson students took their turn walking across the stage on Thursday, June 3. The HHS Class of 2021 included 533 candidates, with salutatorian Reed Tubbs and Avn Josh Manigsaca named valedictorian.
Pflugerville High School
Pflugerville High School and PACE students capped off the week with commencement ceremonies on Friday, June 4. A total of 463 PHS students were candidates for graduation, and Max Richter was honored as salutatorian, while Garret Ping was named valedictorian.
The PACE ceremony followed the PHS event that day. The PACE Class of 2021 included 14 graduates.
The last day of class for PfISD students in the 2020-21 school year was May 27.
