Pflugerville ISD art students participated in Region 13N Area Visual Art Scholastic Event (VASE) and received top scores, including six students who will be advancing to State VASE in April.

VASE is the Art equivalent of a UIL event through Texas Arts Education Association. Students create a meaningful piece of art, write an artist statement, and interview with a VASE juror at the region level. Students are scored on how well they interview and the quality of the artwork. Students who receive a score of 4 earn a medal and their piece is eligible for Area judging, which determines what pieces will compete at the State level. 

Region 13N Competition Stats:

• 19 districts

• 35 schools

• 100 teachers

• 1598 entries

• 1278 were juried

• Only 27 artworks were disqualified.

• 113 advancing to state over all 4 divisions, including 6 from PfISD.
